Rochelle Goldberg’s series of aluminum sculptures is made specifically for Winterfest. Each work is a cast of a donkey taken from a 1950s nativity scene and then adorned with iridescent make-up.
Another piece, Composite Filth (I), is a ceramic head that continues the artist’s series of “composite Marys”—sculptural forms inspired by the collapse and compression of female figures throughout history, such as Mary Magdalene and Mary of Egypt.
